Laminated kitchen furniture renovation
Step by step, we’ll show you how and with what materials you can renovate your old plastic-covered kitchen furniture with safe, long-lasting materials.
HARZO products are always water-based materials! Mix all materials thoroughly before use. The tools can be washed with water!

Workflow, layer order description:
1. Preparation, degreasing
After removing the obstructive furniture fittings, continue working with degreasing and thorough cleaning. After chemical cleaning, wash the furniture with clean water and wipe it dry.
2. Repairs
Repair unwanted holes and minor defects with HARZO FIX Compensative multi filler and HARZO-Fix sealing materials. After the patch has dried, polish the repairs and wipe off the dust.
3. Foundation
Base the door panels with the single-component T-16 primer in one layer. The primer will dry and can be paint after 1-2 hours.
Coverage: 10-12m2/litre/layer.
Drying time: about 1-2 hours, depends on the temperature and proper ventilation, ventilation.

Kitchen worktops are subject to more stress! So base these on the two-component T-16 primer.
HARZO T-16 two-component primer mixing:
Don’t be surprised, component A is not liquid.
Mix the contents of component A thoroughly, then pour the contents of component B into it in full. Pour the crucible of the empty component B, fill it with water and pour it into component A. Mix all this thoroughly with the help of a mixing machine for a minimum of 2-3 minutes to get the cross-linking processes started.
If you do not have a drill, you can also mix it with a small brush. Brush it, mix it twice as long as with a machine.
Pour the mixed material into a larger bucket that can hold the paint roller and the scraper grille.
Make sure you use a solvent-resistant paint roller for foundation. For example, the Schuller brand paintline type paint roller!
The mixed primer begins to cross-linking after 30-40 minutes. It hardens in the bucket and becomes unusable. Therefore, always mix as many primers as you will use in about 30-40 minutes.
The drying time of the primer at room temperature, with adequate air movement, is about 2-3 hours.
Always work with a clean roller, brush and pull-down grid.
If it is necessary to subordinate the primer, measure it in several directions, use a digital household scale for weighing and take care to ensure that the weight ratios are accurately observed.
Coverage: 8-10m2/kg/layer.

4. Apply colour
Roll the Colour Top Coat into two layers on the doors and worktop. Between the layers, ensure 1-2 hours of drying time. The Colour paint mixed with colour is excellently covered in two layers. In white, it may need to be applied in three layers.
After drying the second layer of Colour paint on the worktops, make a fine, smooth-touch vein.
Colour the HARZO Colour paint and roll it onto the counter. Of course, this can be of any colour. Mix out your favorite colours!
After rolling, work with plastic hedgehogs (artificial grass). With the help of the tiny, flexible plastic fibers of hedgehogs, you can create the pattern of the veining. All you have to do is move the decorative tool in a longitudinal direction back and forth.
Coverage: 10-12 m2/litre/layer.
Drying time: about 1-3 hours, depends on the temperature and proper ventilation, ventilation.

5. Varnishing
Stir in the contents of component A, then add component B and mix thoroughly for 3-4 minutes.
For varnishing, always mix as much material as you use in an hour or two. Because after about an hour or two, the varnish begins to dry in the bucket and becomes unusable!
Varnish the counters in two layers, leaving between the layers 2-3 hours of drying time. It is enough to varnish the doors in one layer.
Always work with a clean roller, brush and scraper grid. For varnishing, it is worth applying a new roller, brush, scraper grille per layer if you cannot wash it thoroughly! For varnishing, use the MICROLINE PRO paint roller of the Shuller brand or similar high-quality roller and high-quality brush!
If it is necessary to divide the varnish, measure it in several directions, use a digital household scale for weighing and take care to ensure that the weight ratios are accurately observed.
Drying time: about 2-3 hours, which depends on the air temperature and ventilation possibilities.
Coverage: approx. 10-12 m2/kg/layer/

Available in matte light, its light can be changed with the HARZO Polishing Care.
6. Care, polishing
Roll the care onto a microfiber mop, then spread it evenly, making sure it doesn’t flow.
The Care dries and can be applied again in about 30-40 minutes. Applicate in at least two layers.
The well-groomed surfaces are very durable, provide long-lasting safety and can be groomed at any time, as you like.
