Small furniture renovation

Renovation of small furniture with antique painting, embossed stenciling, varnished

HARZO products are always water-based materials! Mix all materials thoroughly before use. The tools can be washed with water!

 

Products sensing for it:

  • HARZO T-16 single-component primer
  • HARZO Tiredi Antique paint. It can be purchased and coloured in white. In a paint shop it can be coloured according to RAL or NCS colour scheme, or at home with hand-colouring pastes based on water.

  • HARZO water-based parquet varnish

 

Workflow, layer order description:

1. Preparation, degreasing

After removing the obstructive furniture fittings, continue working with degreasing and thorough cleaning. After chemical cleaning, wash the furniture with clean water and wipe it dry.

2. Repairs

Repair unwanted holes and minor defects with HARZO Fix Compensative multi filler and HARZO-Fix Sealing materials. After the sealing material has dried, polish the repairs and wipe off the dust.

3. Foundation

Use the single-component T-16 primer to base the small furniture in one layer. The primer will dry and can be paint after 1-2 hours.

Coverage: 10-12m2/litre/layer.

Drying time: about 1-2 hours, depends on the temperature and proper ventilation, ventilation.

4. Apply colour

With HARZO Tiredi Antique paint, you can create a thin, convex pattern in one layer on the cover of the furniture. Wait an hour or two for it to dry.

After drying, paint the furniture with a paint roller, but always roll only one work surface, part of the furniture. While the material is malleable, model it with a brush so that a fine vein is created under the influence of brush hairs. Keep going until you’re ready. Then ensure 1-2 hours of drying time and model it with Tiredi Antique paint mixed in different colours, antique the dried surface!

5. Stenciling

For the dried Tiredi Antique paint-painted furniture door, using a plastic stencil template, make a embossed decoration. Use a HARZO-Fix Sealing materials to create the embossing pattern.

6. Varnishing

After drying the Patch, polish the surface of the relief pattern with abrasive canvas of about 120. Dust and varnish with HARZO Parquet in two layers. You can dilute the first layer of varnish with 10% water and ensure 1-2 hours of drying time between the layers. Applicate the second layer without dilution.

Always work with a clean roller, brush and scraper grid.

Drying time: about 1-2 hours, which depends on the air temperature and ventilation possibilities.

Coverage: approx. 10-11 m2/litre/layer/
