Renovation, foundation, painting of tiles. Waterproof varnishing and care.

In this case, the interstice of tiling does not disappear, it is simply repainted, varnished along with the surface of the tile. It is a safe solution in the interior, sidewalls. With this renovation method, we paint a thin layer of paint on the tiling, so we do not recommend it when applied to walking surfaces! If someone decides to make it on a walking surface, they should be especially spared during daily use!

HARZO products are always water-based materials! The tools can be washed with water!

Products snuffed out: mix all materials thoroughly before use.

 

• HARZO T-16 water-based single-component primer for rooms where the water load is minimal (e.g. toilet) or HARZO T-16 2K water-based two-component primer for rooms where the water load is strong (e.g. bathroom)
• HARZO Colour Top Coat, mixed in white or colour (can be coloured in a paint shop according to RAL and NCS colour scheme, or homemade with water-based hand colouring pastes)
• HARZO two-component water varnish (in less water-loaded rooms e.g. toilet, it is enough to use HARZO Colour Top Coat, it is not important to use two-component water varnish) HARZO Polishing-Care∙

Workflow, layer order description:

 1. Preparation, degreasing

To degreas the tile, you can use Triso, dissolved in warm water or any degreaser. After dissolving the grease, wash the tile thoroughly with clean water. Wipe it dry. Make sure to wipe the remnants of the degreaser (veil layer) from the dried tile thoroughly with a dry cloth after washing the degreaser.

2. Repairs

Repair of unwanted holes and minor defects with HARZO Fix compensative multi fillers and HARZO Fix sealing materials.

3. Foundation

After the repair of defects is completely dried, the HARZO T-16 Special Primer is evenly aerated and worked without dilution (the two-component primer requires the addition of 10-15% water), in one layer with a brush in the corners and edges, and with a short-haired roller (about 10-15 mm in length) on larger surfaces.

Single-component T-16 primer: 10-11m2/litre/layer. Two-component T-16 primer: approx. 810 m2/kg/ layer. Drying time for both products: about 2-3 hours, depends on the temperature and proper ventilation, ventilation. The single-component primer can be moved immediately after drying time. At the two-component primer it is advisable to wait 4-5 hours with the transferability and drying time!

Single-component T-16 primer:

• 250 ml
• 1 litre
• 4 liters
• 10 liters

Two-component T-16 primer:

• 0.5 kg (component A+B)
• 1 kg (component A+B)
• 4 kg (component A+B)

4. Application of colour

With white or coloured HARZO Colour Top Coat, you need to paint the dried T16 primer in two to three layers.

If you want to create a burgard with masking (adhesive) tape or use masking tape on other surfaces, make sure that it is always removed only after the layers have completely dried and, if necessary, masked again.

5. Varnishing (work process to be omitted if you are not renovating the sidewall of a room with a heavy water load e.g. toilet)

After the HARZO Colour Top Coat has dried, the last minor repairs can follow, if necessary, and then the mixing and anaesthetic of the HARZO two-component water varnish (dense, white, colourless after drying).

Mixing of varnish begins with the mixing of component A, then the agitation and mixing of components A and B is followed by a clean bucket with a clean mixing mud, stirring for 5-6 minutes so that the chemistry processes start. Conveniently, you have about 2 hours to a soak up the varnish, then the varnish begins to dries into the bucket. Always work with a clean roller, brush and scraper grid!! For varnishing, it is worth applying a new roller, brush, scraper grille per layer if you cannot wash it thoroughly!  We recommend using the Shuller brand’s MICROLINE PRO 17 mm hair-length paint roller and high-quality brush for varnishing.

To the first layer you need to add 5% water, which you need to mix and so apply. Then after 2-3 hours of drying, you need to applicate it again, but without adding water. After adhering the second layer, again provide a minimum drying time of 2-3 hours.

Until you know the behavior of the material, always applicate one part of the wall at a time, and then the next part of the wall. Handle the two-component varnish carefully!! If it is necessary to divide the varnish, measure it in several directions, use a digital household scale for weighing and take care to ensure that the weight ratios are accurately observed.

Drying time per layer: about 2-3 hours, which depends on the air temperature and the possibilities of ventilation, ventilation.

In case you are renovating a non-wet room, you can also use HARZO single-component parquet varnish to protect the surface in at least two but more like three layers!

Drying time between layers: about 2-3 hours, depending on temperature, ventilation.

Both varnishes have a Coverage: approx. 10-12 m2/layer/kg and both varnish are aqueously diluted.

HARZO two-component varnish packs:

• 1 kg (A+B Ferry.)
• 4 kg (A+B Komp.) is available in matte light, after drying its light can be changed and polished with HARZO Polisher-Care.

HARZO single-component parquet varnish presentations (recommended if you do not choose HARZO two-component varnish because you are not renovating a wet room):

• 250 ml
• 1 lit
• 2.5 lit
• 5 lit

Available in glossy, Silk and Matte gloss versions.

6. Care, polishing

The HARZO Liquid Polishing Care seals the micron pores of the dried varnishes, which are not visible to the naked eye, and forms a protective layer from abrasive effects, which is very easy to clean and keep clean. Countless layers can be applied one after the drying. With the care, you can care for the surface every week, monthly, yearly, over and over again, ensuring its shine and the experience of cleaning it effortlessly.

HARZO Polishing-Care water-like, white liquid that becomes colourless after drying. On the completely dried varnish, you need to work in two or three layers using a microfiber mop, evenly dissiccating it. The Liquid polishing care can be applied to the side wall with a short-haired (approx. 10 mm hair length) paint roller, or rolled up on the mopp, and then evenly distributed with a mop on the side wall. You have to make sure it doesn’t happen!!

Drying time between layers is about 30-40 minutes, depending on the temperature.

Its coverage is about 60 m2/layer/litre.

THE HARZO LIQUID POLISHING CARE IS WORTH PRESERVING!

It can be groomed and updated at any time and is very abundant.

It can also be used: on surfaces worn, painted or varnished in light, furniture, varnished parquet, laminated parquet, linoleum and enamel paints for renewal and care.

Available in silk-matte and glossy versions.

Use the materials and techniques described above on walking surfaces and shower cabins only when using the HARZO T16 two-component primer.

After professional consultation, the HARZO T-16 two-component primer should always be used for the foundation of the sidewalls of the showers!
